I'm blessed to be a witness
to the beauty of today
to the always-moving magic of
gentle people on the way
whose kindness is transcendent and
outsparks most any light -
burns brighter than all the factories and
machinery of night

when we look back
I think we'll learn
that in spite of all the fires
that people caused to burn
the brightest light that ever
was found upon the earth
was people
in their homes
people talking with their friends
people whose angel-light
from their bodies ascends
